Kouper, Inc. (“Kouper”, “we”, or “us”) provides a platform that facilitates communications between health care partners and patients (the “Platform”). We also operate a website (the “Site”) to promote our Platform to current and prospective health care partners (“Partners”). In the Privacy Policy, we refer to the Site and Platform together as the “Services.“

This Privacy Policy explains:

  1. How we handle patient information on behalf of our Partners when they use the Platform to communicate with patients (see ‘Patient Information’ below); and
  2. How we collect, use, and share personal information about representatives of current and prospective Partners and visitors to our Site (see ‘Business Information’ below).

1.  Patient Information

Our Platform makes use of a chatbot feature that allows patients to communicate with our Partners by text message to receive assistance with care, treatment, and appointment scheduling.

When patients communicate with us and our Partners via the Platform, we may collect the following categories of information:

This information may be “Protected Health Information” or “PHI” subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). As a “business associate” under HIPAA, we are required to protect PHI in accordance with HIPAA and our agreements with our Partners.

You can opt out of text message communications from our Platform at any time by texting “STOP” to the number from which you receive the text messages, or by following any other the instructions provided by text message via the Platform.
